Juneau Marathon Run JuneauThe 26 mile Juneau Marathon Run, 7:00 AM start. Won by Guy Thibodeau, the Juneau Douglas High School track coach, in 2:55:48.8 - but "not without a serious challenge". He had to outrace Steve Davis over the closing mile, and finished about a minute clear; Davis crossed at 2:56:05.7. THIRTEEN STARTED AND NINE FINISHED. The field was split into three divisions - 19 and under, 20-29, and 30 and over - with medals from the Juneau Parks and Recreation Department to the top three in each. Thibodeau took the 20-29 division as well as the overall title; Davis won 30 and over; Kevin Johnson won 19 and under in 3:19:17.6. Coral Taplin was the only woman entered and completed the course in 4:58:17.9. Eight of the nine finishers are listed here with their times. The ninth, Mike Rodriguez, placed third in the 19 and under division but no time was printed for him, so he is not shown in the results.
