Description	This event is not a JTRR or NAOC event and is listed on our calendar for informational purposes only. Open water swim and run (2.8 swim and 6 mi run) OR just run a 5k or 1 mile. $60 for swim/run and $20 for either run. All sign up donation will go towards the "Ranger Lead The Way" Fundraiser. History	The first Ranger Lead The Way Swim Run Juneau, organised by race director Isaiah Campos in honour of his best friend Chris Condra, a retired Army Ranger, and of military families. Campos hopes to make it annual. Eight athletes completed the SwimRun and another fourteen ran the 5 kilometre or the one mile - though the article names fifteen of them, so its own count is one short somewhere. Aaron Morrison was first back in 2:10:45, followed by Charlie Waters 2:15:34, Abe Levy 2:17:00, Tracey Morrison 2:25:27, Abbey Cummins 2:28:37, Andrew Ferris 2:47:02, Kara Hollatz 2:54:46 and Austin Schmidt 3:12:06. Brandon Ivanowicz won the 5K in 19:45. The other runners named, without times and without the article saying which of the two races each ran, were Ryan Bischoff, Dartanan Campos, Demetrius Campos, Lauryn Campos, Glen Fairchild, Elena Hesson, Felix Hesson, Adrian Kleinhans, Cael Koentopp, Tammy Ladd, Ally Lindley, Anderson Murray, Chase Saviors and Andrew Walton. They are named here rather than held as results, because a result needs a race and the source does not give one. The SwimRun started at Eagle Valley Lodge and ran to Amalga Harbor Road and down to the Gruening Park beach access, swam to Boy Scout Beach, ran the tidal trail to the Horse Tram Trail and back into the water near the Amalga cabin area, swam back to Gruening Park beach and ran back to the lodge, in wetsuits with safety and race gear. The 5K left the lodge for the Eagle River Landing Trail, turned along the Horse Tram Trail and returned; the one mile went out to Amalga Harbor Road and back. DISTANCE: the club listing gives 2.8 miles of swimming and 6 of running, and the report calls it "the grueling 10 miles" with a swim of "two miles in the open ocean". The two do not agree and no course was measured here, so the SwimRun is held at zero - which also keeps a swim-and-run time out of the all-time record list for running races. A heavy wave chop and wind made the swim hard, and a chum salmon jumped over Andrew Ferris as he approached the final swim leg.
