| History |
The third Chilkat Challenge Triathlon. 22 solo entrants are held here, each as three leg times; the finish time on this page is the sum of them. 13 teams also ran and are NOT held as results, because no source prints the names of the people on them. Their times as published: Gunalsheesh! (Haines) - paddle 1:10:12, cycle 56:39, run 1:05:16, total 3:12:07 McWatWood (Juneau) - paddle 1:21:28, cycle 1:02:37, run 1:16:32, total 3:40:37 Lydia and Craig (Haines) - paddle 1:12:33, cycle 1:12:52, run 1:16:46, total 3:42:11 Gen & Josie (Haines) - paddle 1:12:10, cycle 1:07:48, run 1:25:36, total 3:45:34 Decade Dames (Haines) - paddle 1:15:02, cycle 1:04:49, run 1:29:52, total 3:49:43 Two Bewers and a Baller (Whitehorse) - paddle 1:12:03, cycle 1:09:27, run 1:30:52, total 3:52:22 Planetary Berries (Haines) - paddle 1:24:58, cycle 1:13:26, run 1:17:30, total 3:55:54 Body IQ PT (Haines) - paddle 1:10:23, cycle 1:07:54, run 1:41:49, total 4:00:06 Smooth Snailin' (Juneau) - paddle 1:20:51, cycle 1:27:42, run 1:24:03, total 4:12:36 Because we can/can (Whitehorse) - paddle 1:22:27, cycle 56:29, run 2:10:16, total 4:29:12 Double Double (Whitehorse) - paddle 1:01:54, cycle 1:13:43, run 1:48:24, total 4:34:01 Kimberly Bedard's Team (Whitehorse) - paddle 1:21:06, cycle 1:51:10, run 1:43:36, total 4:55:52 Katherine Kane's Team (Juneau) did not finish - paddle and bike, 2:38:33 elapsed, no run. Two entrants did not finish and are not held as results: Nicholas Monck of Boulder, who completed the paddle in 1:32:18 and did not start the bike; Meredith Trainor of Juneau, who completed the paddle and the bike, 2:34:19 elapsed, and did not start the run. Justin Fantasia's three splits add to 3:50:23 while the sheet prints his finish as 4:05:23 and places him tenth on it - exactly fifteen minutes apart. The difference is carried on a separate row so the total here matches the sheet and he keeps his printed position. The team Double Double is short the same way by exactly thirty minutes. The sheet does not say what either was for. DISTANCES: none is printed for 2019 and none is inferred. The 2018 poster gives an 8-mile paddle, a 21-mile cycle and a 9-mile run, but nothing says the 2019 course was the same, and the fastest 2019 bike is seven minutes quicker than the fastest 2018 one - which could mean a shorter course or a faster rider. All three legs are held at zero. Liz Landes's hometown is printed "P.o. Box 1154" and is not recorded, a post box not being a place.
