The second annual Zach Gordon Teen Club Great Pumpkin Race. Kelly Miller won in 15:30 from Shawn Johns, who had won the first running the year before. Seventeen finishers are listed, in four categories; the Empire gives no total, so this may be the whole field.
DATE: the report prints none. 31 October is used because the race is named for Halloween and the first running was held on it. That is an inference from the name and not something the paper states.
DISTANCE: not printed either. The first running in 1981 was 2.6 miles, and nothing in this report says the course was unchanged, so no distance is recorded here. |
